****Part Time LPN MONDAY thru Thursday Third shift 1045pm to 715am  **3 day weekend off**

Base pay listed above PLUS $2.00/hr shift differential and $5000 Sign on Bonus

PURPOSE: This position may assist the Director of Nursing Service in assessing resident care needs and may assist in implementing appropriate action. May assist in implementing nursing policies and procedures. May assist in supervising staffing for the nursing department and may assist in supervising the quality of nursing care provided to residents.

 

WORKING HOURS: Hours of work are 0 to 80 hours per pay period plus or minus as business needs and assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.

 

THIS PERSON REPORTS TO: The Director of Nursing or designee.

 

HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY: Responsible to adhere to HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY guidelines and safeguard protected health information.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Well-lighted, well-ventilated nursing units and rooms. May stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the work day. May have to deal with emotional disturbances of residents, residents family and staff. May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, scratches, and kicks from confused residents. May be exposed to certain peculiarities of the aged. Must be on constant alert for prevention of resident and self-injury.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Clock-in and out promptly, on time.
  2. Report to nursing unit assigned to receive report from nursing personnel of pervious shift.
  3. Assumes charge duty of unit.
  4. Must complete narcotic and other control drug count with nursing personnel of previous shift and sign medication nurses 8-hour audit and receiving responsibility record.
  5. Administers and documents medication as given. Observes for and reports any medication reactions to Charge Nurse or to Physician, as applicable.
  6. Renders nursing care to residents within an assigned unit.
  7. Maintains records reflecting residents condition, medication and treatment as given.
  8. Establishes a good rapport with residents, families, and co-workers.
  9. Supervises all non-professional personnel in giving quality nursing care.
  10. Encourages non-professional staff in constantly improving quality of nursing care.
  11. Assist as a team member to develop resident care plans as assigned, and assists implementing the plan on the unit.
  12. Accepts and processes written and phone orders from physician.
  13. Assist in providing direct resident care (i.e., personal care, bath, elimination needs, O.O.B. regime, etc.).
  14. May be required to perform treatment of residents requiring attendance (i.e., changing of dressings, insertions and irrigation of catheter, tube feedings, R.O.M. exercises and other treatments as ordered by physician).
  15. Reports any changes in residents condition to Physician and Director of Nursing services as necessary.
  16. Assists with passing of trays and feeding of residents.
  17. Attends specific in-service programs when scheduled.
  18. Attends staff meetings as assigned.
  19. Assists with evaluating performance of personnel being supervised.
  20. Makes recommendations to supervisors regarding disciplinary measures.
  21. Assists in and/or notes all absences and tardiness by unit employees, issues reprimands where appropriate, obtains substitutes as thought necessary.
  22. Makes work assignments to nursing aides based upon an evaluation of the aides abilities and experience.
  23. Responsible for adherence by unit employees of all company rules and policies, is authorized to administer discipline as appropriate based upon evaluation of the circumstances surrounding incidents.
