Essential Functions

  • Serves as a guest services representative for the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA).
  • Checks in visitors to the John R Block Building and assigns them visitor credentials.
  • Maintains the reservation schedule for the Future Farmers of America (FFA) conference room, the 4-H Conference room, 4-H (building 30) Auditorium, the John Block Auditorium and any other space under the prevue of Support Services.
  • Serves as an assistant to the Bureau of Support Services.
  • Provides general office support for the Bureau of Support Services.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.

Conditions of Employment

 

  • Requires completion of a name-based background screening and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license. 
  • This position is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. This job may require a good deal of walking or standing or involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
  • Must have the ability to work in office 5 days a week, no remote work available.
