SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE (Basic purpose of the job):
The Senior Director, Sales - Regional provides strategic leadership and vision across multiple geographic territories, ensuring alignment with national and global commercial priorities. This role drives sustainable revenue growth, market penetration, and competitive positioning in oncology. Beyond tactical execution, the Senior Director shapes long-term regional strategy, mentors future leaders, and serves as a key voice in national planning. The position requires exceptional business acumen, cross-functional influence, and the ability to anticipate and respond to evolving market dynamics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and execute regional sales strategies that align with national and global objectives.
- Drive consistent achievement of revenue, market share, and profitability goals across multiple territories.
- Anticipate regional trends, competitive threats, and healthcare policy shifts; provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Build succession pipelines by mentoring Regional Sales Directors and Oncology Account Managers; identify and groom future leaders.
- Partner with marketing, medical affairs, market access, and operations to ensure integrated execution of strategic initiatives.
- Oversee regional budgets, resource allocation, and investment decisions to maximize ROI.
- Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and innovative approaches to expand market presence.
- Represent the region in national leadership forums, contributing to forecasting, portfolio strategy, and long-term planning.
- Ensure flawless execution of sales plans while balancing strategic priorities with tactical needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises Oncology Account Managers.
- Provides leadership to subordinate managers, ensuring consistent performance management practices.
- Oversees staffing, succession planning, and organizational design for regional sales teams
- Acts as a mentor and coach to senior-level sales leaders.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 15 years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree in a related discipline and 13 years of relevant experiences, or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years’ proven experience in oncology sales and/or marketing
- Demonstrated success in leading large, diverse teams and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
Experience in brand strategy, market access, and payer engagement strongly preferred.
Proven track record of influencing executive-level decision-making and contributing to national strategy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and align large teams.
- Advanced strategic planning, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Deep expertise in oncology market dynamics, healthcare systems, and regulatory environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence.
- Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and rapid change with resilience.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Skilled in building cross-functional partnerships and driving organizational alignment.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:

- Commercial/Field-based: Candidate must be located in close proximity to their Region
- Environment: primarily working indoors, performing clerical work or meeting with clients
Travel required – 60% of domestic travel required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $268,500 - $343,000 annually.
