Who we are looking for:
Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Manager – NVH/Durability/CFD Simulation to join our growing team. The role will develop and manage the team that creates the Vehicle Level System Models and CAE Models for all Attributes, ensures Feasibility, and executes model correlation on all virtual models. This position will be responsible for the total vehicle integration of all virtual tool models for Body, Chassis, Interior, Exterior attribute requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to identify and resolve design related solutions identified in the virtual tool models.
- Lead cross-functional CAE team meetings, working with all product development teams including systems and components, packaging, manufacturing, and service to ensure the technical targets are set, solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle's life, and model correlation is executed.
- Set and manage the Virtual Tools Delivery Matrix that will match the Functional Vehicle Targets set by Vehicle Integration. This can and should include component, system, and vehicle level modeling as Re:Car’s capabilities grow.
- Manage the evaluation of the Model Requirements against the Vehicle Features at each required gate in the development process where risks and priorities will be highlighted.
- Integrate results from physical testing and validation work for Structural Durability, NVH, Aerodynamics modeling, and other bench, system or component work as needed in development.
- Manage 3-5 direct line Lead Engineers and an organization that could grow to 5 or more. Expected models include Structural CAE Durability, NVH, CFD modeling.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience with Automotive Virtual Tools.
- Excellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.
- Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.
- Broad vehicle technical and vehicle development process knowledge including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically) and validate with statistical confidence.
- Functional Science Experience in multiple disciplines (Crash, NVH, Safety, Thermal, Dynamics, Aerodynamics).
- Design Release Engineering experience is a plus
- Ability and Desire to build your own team and work in a fun and fast paced environment
