Jewish Song Leader, Camp Kaleidoscope

About the role

Share your love of performance and group singing with children this summer! The Camp Song Leader serves as the performer and MC for daily performances, leading Jewish and other songs as well as bringing campers to the stage to share their talents. In addition, the Song Leader teaches classes and leads activities. These may include musical direction or coaching for our fully staged musicals.

Salary for the full season is $4,800-$6,000. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. While a full summer commitment is preferred for this summer role, there is some flexibility.

 

Schedule

June 17 through August 16. Full-time seasonal, on Mondays through Fridays. 8:30am – 4:30pm

Requirements

- Lead daily performances, encouraging campers to share their talents

- Lead camper singing with Jewish and other songs

- Create a fun/joyful dynamic

- Lead or co-lead classes and activities

- Work in partnership with peers and camp leadership to provide a happy, safe and memorable summer for the children

- Contribute as needed in camp special events and initiatives

Qualifications of Jewish Song Leader

- Has college degree in music or significant experience song leading

- Familiarity with Jewish music

- Has experience with children

- Has excellent audience and group management skills

- Flexibility in plans and positive attitude
