Responsibilities

Do you want to help innovate solutions to some of our nation’s most pressing military and space technology challenges?

 

The Strategic Systems Engineering division is seeking a highly-motivated undergraduate or graduate student for a full-time 3-month summer internship.  This intern will support guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems test equipment tasks by assisting with development of strategic grade test equipment, test processes, plans, analysis and design. 

 

Tasking could include:

  • Develop system and subsystem test equipment or test equipment components
  • Mechanical or electrical design of test equipment 
  • Hands on, in lab integration, testing and data analysis
  • Assist with the integration of lab hardware and infrastructure 
  • Gain knowledge of GN&C systems from a test and evaluation perspective
  • Develop test plans and procedures
  • Analysis of system test failure reports 
  • Evaluate and research system integration and test architectures for future strategic systems and sensors

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, computer science, math, or physics
  • Basic programming skills in MATLAB, Python, Labview
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly both working closely with engineers and independently
  • Comfortable using new software and tools

Any of the following additional qualifications would be highly desirable:

  • Coursework in electrical, mechanical or software design
  • Lab experience and hands on experience with network, logic analyzers, or other laboratory equipment
  • System analysis or systems engineering coursework
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE), Simulink, real time simulation
  • Integration and test experience
  • Familiarity with Inertial Measurement Systems and Sensors
  • Data Architecture, data acquisition, processing and analysis

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Proof of U.S. citizenship is a primary requirement to be eligible for a U.S. government security clearance.

This position and/or the facilities in which its duties will be performed are subject to national security programs imposed and administered under U.S. statutes. Therefore, pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(g), this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens, and applicants with dual citizenship may not be considered.
