About the role

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Coaching Leadership
    1. Assist the head coach in managing and supporting all aspects of the golf program
      1. Comply with the mission and vision of Wheaton College; adhere to all College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and NCAA rules and regulations
      2. Assist the head coach in all aspects related to recruiting, selecting, and retaining a minimum of 6-8 team members that reflect the profile of Wheaton College students
      3. Monitor team standards 
      4. Assist the head coach in practice planning and conducting to prepare team for competition 
      5. Travel with team 

 

  1. Spiritual Leadership
    1. Encourage and develop personal relationships with student-athletes 
    2. Encourage a holistic environment for the well-being of student-athletes
  2. Assist the head coach in providing Christian discipleship to current student-athletes

 

  1. Administrative Leadership
    1. Assist the head coach in administrative duties as needed

 

This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time depending on the operational needs of the department.

  Qualifications
  • Coaching or playing experience
  • Ability to recruit quality student-athletes at the college level
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire student-athletes on and off the soccer field 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A commitment to the values of NCAA Division III athletics and Christ-centered education
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Competency in MSOffice computer programs. 

 

Physical Requirements

The person in this position must be able to drive/transport athletes; set up and take down golf equipment; and the ability to lift, move, and carry up to 25lbs.
