JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) is responsible for supporting the buying and delivery process of goods and the placement and delivery of purchase orders at the affiliate level.  The SCS is responsible for the planning, daily management, reporting and compliance with policy and procedures for the logistics functions in all areas.  The SCS’s responsibilities include procurement, transport, administration, asset, and property management. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Functions as a liaison between the vendors and offices to ensure that orders are delivered and/or expedited on time as required.
  •  Responsible for assigning purchase order numbers.
  •  Responsible for researching and initiating disputes with vendors, including tracking, monitoring and resolving the pricing/delivery dispute.
  •  Responsible for the IOS compliance reporting, including buyer communication and IOS training.
  •  Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process.
  •  Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively.
  •  Building strong working relationships with associated departments, for example: Administration, Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, etc.
  • Recommends improvements for purchasing methods and IOS enhancements.
  • Provides recommendations to the department Director for procedural or policy changes to enhance logistics effectiveness, internal controls or cost efficiencies.
  •  When necessary, STOCKPILE coordination, staging shipments, creating Excel documentation for each shipment, and physical inventory. Documentation is due to Director, Operations on the 10th of the following month after each shipment.
  •  Product allocation coordination.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

 


  • Certification in production and Inventory  Management (CPIM) or equivalent training, strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

      


  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel and Pivot      Tables.
  • Accounting knowledge   preferred.
  • Knowledge of database  management.
  • Excellent verbal and  written communication skills.
  • Excellent  organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-oriented with  ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Strong analytical and  problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work  independently and manage deadlines.
  • Complies with all   health and safety policies of the organization.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

         


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

   


  • 4 years’ experience in an Administrative/Clerical environment, preferred 2 years’ experience to be  Supply Chain specific.
