Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities is seeking a motivated Analyst to join our Fixed Income Sales and Trading desk in Chicago. This candidate requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and strong financial market acumen. The candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple sales teams with operational, settlement and clerical responsibilities. In addition, this position will require strong collaboration with our trading, syndicate, and operations groups to facilitate internal and externally derived requests

Essential Job Functions

  • Work directly with multiple sales teams – handling many internal/administrative tasks
  • Assist senior sales professionals in managing relationships, preparing trade ideas, and responding to client inquiries. Provide timely and accurate information regarding market updates, trade execution, and settlement processes
  • Stay informed on macroeconomic trends, interest rate movements, credit spreads, and other factors impacting fixed income markets.
  • Prepare daily market summaries and client-ready materials to support sales efforts
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in trade execution, settlement, and client servicing
  • Update, maintain, and enhance databases and automated tools used by the teams to track information such as transaction pricings, investor feedback, etc.
  • Daily interaction with institutional fixed income investors and credit analysts
  • Collaborate directly with traders on trade ideas, negotiations, and execution
  • Help prepare marketing and outreach strategies
  • Handle incoming calls/messaging and route appropriately

  • Ability to spot arising opportunities and assertiveness to seize them
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or on an individual basis in a fast-paced environment; easily adaptable to changing situations
  • Fast decision-making skills, mental discipline, and ability to solve problems under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment; maintain integrity at all times
  • An understanding of securitized fixed income products (e.g., Asset-backed Securities (ABS), Mortgage-backed Securities (MBS), Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs)) and broader financial markets.
  • Strong organizational skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting
  • 0-2 years of experience in capital markets
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Excel, and other financial tools
  • Familiarity with fixed income products

Work Location 

  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the Chicago office at least 4 days per week.
  • Client and Conference travel expected

Salary

  • Annual base salary between $90,000 and $110,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
