Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Access Representative to join our Patient Access team. The successful applicant is responsible for recognizing and executing all functions necessary to receive and distribute calls, complete required reports, handle emergencies and act as a consultant to customers coming into the hospital.
Essential Duties:
1. Courteously and effectively receives and distributes telephone communications.
2. Direct traffic and questions for patients and outside sources.
3. Keeps accurate details of all inpatients.
4. Maintain and report, as requested, ongoing logs, staffing meeting minutes, etc.
5. Be familiar with all Switchboard daily functions.
Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
1. Must have excellent telephone etiquette.
2. Type at least 30 WPM with accuracy.
Schedule:
With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
