Introduction to the Team

The Traveler Business Team builds and drives growth for our global consumer businesses—Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. This division creates compelling and differentiated traveler value for each brand by setting the strategic vision, operating strategy, and plan. Responsibilities include investment allocation and prioritization, P&L accountability, and leading cross-functional teams across Expedia Group, who are all held accountable to a single scorecard. 

The Senior Manager of Americas Hotel Analytics will lead the team acting as Business Partner to the 2 hotel account management leadership teams in the NORAM and LATAM. The successful candidate’s team will be responsible to advise and support each Vice President (VP) and their team in their strategic and operational decision making and in monitoring the overall health of their respective businesses. This will be achieved through best-in-class analysis leveraging the models, products and framework from other Center of Excellence teams sitting within Lodging Analytics. The successful candidate will build a solid partnership with the Account Management team through stellar business acumen and a strong ability to convert best-in-class analysis into actionable insights.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of 3 business analysts in 2 locations advising and supporting the Americas hotel account management teams.

  • Collaborate closely with the VP’s Leadership Team to support fact-based decision making on strategic and operational initiatives.

  • Be accountable to monitor overall VP’s remit business health and to proactively identify buckets of risks opportunities.

  • Provide the appropriate business & trading updates to leadership (e.g. Weekly Performance Review, QBR, Townhall, Offsites, etc.)

  • Partner closely with other Hotel Analytics teams and build on Center of Excellence insights/products, potentially combining/adding elements to meet regional specificities.

  • Establish trust and a collaborative working relationship with stakeholders across all areas of the business including product, brands, and finance.

  • Clearly and confidently articulate decision-making rationale, solutions, methodologies, and frameworks to stakeholders, team members, and peers in both technical and non-technical organizations. 

Experience and qualifications:

  •  8+ years of experience in a data focused environment (analytics, data science, consulting, etc.) and have an academic background in a quantitative discipline.

  • Experience in leading a team of business analysts or data scientists.

  • Display strong business acumen and critical reasoning skills. 

  • Passion for driving business impact & execution. 

  • Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude, and the ability to drive success with limited guidance in a highly autonomous role. 

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to implement and optimize project framework, plans and work processes in partnership with cross functional project teams. 

  • A team player, building a climate of inclusion to bring a diverse set of perspectives to the team and solutions. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Familiarity with data extraction, data wrangling and visualization tools (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python, R, etc.). 

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget
