(Senior) Legal Counsel

<h3><strong>👩‍💻👨‍💻 About the role</strong></h3><p>We have the vision to be one of the most state-of-the-art and dynamic legal teams in the Fintech space. We are looking for a lawyer with a genuinely innovative mindset to steer and provide legal guidance on a range of topics related to a future Fintech leader.  From day one, you will be given a lot of responsibility and freedom to innovate the legal problem space. Ideally, you will be the first and global go-to legal contact and source of truth for key regulatory topics, work side-by-side with your commercial and product colleagues and play a critical strategic role in the future success of the Mondu!</p><p>We do not want you to get buried with routine tasks. Instead, we strive to automatise and standardise processes as much as possible. Ideally, your role will be to provide strategic guidance and training to businesses on strategic regulatory going-to-market topics. You will be deeply involved in our regulatory expansion process and interactions with local regulators and advisors.</p><p>The role will be based in Amsterdam or Berlin. You will be an integral part of the global legal &amp; compliance team of Mondu. </p><h3>🚧 What you’ll do </h3><ul> <li>Main contact person for all regulatory and product legal matters.</li> <li>Explore tools and actively participate in developing automatisation and standardisation of legal processes for the legal problem space and drive innovation in the legal problem space.</li> <li>Provide advice on regulatory matters (PSD2, AML and others) to support and work side-by-side with business and be actively involved in building and designing a compliant product </li> <li>Leading the global regulatory expansion</li> <li>Leading legal trainings for business stakeholders</li> <li>Closely liaise with non-legal stakeholders and legal colleagues from different teams to drive, explore and solve relevant topics from a regulatory legal perspective</li> <li>Report to the CLO of Mondu and train your leadership skills to build up and head a future Legal team of specialists if</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><h3>🏅What you need to succeed</h3><p><em>Please note:  Do not be put off from applying because you believe you cannot tick every box. If you think you can help and you really want to join our growing and exciting business, please get in touch; we would love to hear from you.</em></p><ul> <li>You have completed a legal diploma in an EU country.</li> <li>Successful passing of the bar examination in an EU country is definitely a plus </li> <li>Minimum of 3+ years of relevant in-house legal or law firm experience</li> <li>Fully fluent in English; German fluency definitely a plus</li> <li>Previous professional regulatory and AML advisory experience in financial or payment services or banking is essential</li> <li>Enthusiastic about partnering with businesses to understand strategic goals and achieve business objectives</li> <li>Have an excellent ability to understand business goals, legal and risk complexity and suggest business-oriented solutions</li> <li>Able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to non-legal stakeholders</li> <li>Able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment</li> <li>Hands-on mentality, no ego personality</li> <li>Enjoys working in teams and working side-by-side with great specialists to achieve a common goal</li> <li>Excellent communication and writing skills </li> <li>Self-driven, solution-oriented and diligent</li> <li>Curious, open-minded, multi-jurisdictional and progressive mindset and a good sense of humour</li> <li>Past experience in the financial or (Fin)tech sector is a plus</li> <li>Business studies or experience is a plus</li> <li>International studying or working experience a plus</li> </ul><p></p><h3><strong>🙌 Who will you work with?</strong></h3><p>Miyu joined Mondu in April 2022  as Chief Legal Officer.
