The Opportunity
We are seeking a Junior Treasury and Investments Analyst to join our Firm. This individual will provide support to the Treasury department in cash management tasks for Skadden and its affiliated offices. They will be responsible for administrative and secretarial tasks, such as providing general information to attorneys, paralegals, and business services professionals.
- Reviews/updates domestic and international bank accounts, maintains bank database and Aderant system to produce bank reports.
- Updates IOLTA and Escrow cash reports, monitors various account balances and transactions.
- Prepares check requests in Aderant and processes wire and ACH payments; purchases foreign currencies (FX).
- Assists in the process of gathering data for the FBAR tax filing which includes preparation of FBAR files, follow up with global offices and G/L department.
- Performs support for electronic banking solutions and other implementations.
- Coordinates with other finance departments to ensure all daily cash activities are recorded correctly.
- Tracks, organizes, maintains, and delivers monthly bank statements, emails Schedule K-1s and other reports to investors.
- Supports Client Accommodation Investment (REIT) activity for individual investors and coordinates calls, redemptions, and dividend distributions with Partner accounting and Payroll departments.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
- Manages Firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Aderant, CitiDirect, Citibusiness, HSBCnet, Northern Trust, Wells Fargo, Chase.
- Knowledge of accounting, finance and investment concepts, and legal terminology.
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Power PDF, Outlook, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates close attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of administrative/accounting experience
