What’s unique about this role?

The Global Corporate Controller will be responsible for worldwide governance over the processes, controls and financial statements while managing a team of financial professionals. The Controller will oversee global financial operations, accountable for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic guidance to support global financial objectives as the company continues its plans for high growth.

What will this person do?

  • Oversee and be responsible for corporate governance processes to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Partner closely with leaders across the organization to understand their needs and make certain controls are understood, followed, and monitored. 
  • Work closely with the IT leaders on the development of accounting systems ensuring controls are in place.
  • Implement new features within the accounting systems that will support the efficiency of the Accounting Operations Department.
  • Lead and mentor the team supporting the Accounting Operations Department.  This includes Financial Statement Preparation, revenue Recognition, Technical Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Taxes. 
  • Be integral in the establishment of new legal entities as the Company continues to grow worldwide. In addition, develop and implement global accounting policies and controls to ensure consistency and accuracy across all regions.
  • Thinking strategically, to support the CFO and the Finance team with budgeting and analysis to identify risks, control costs and ensure proper accounting treatments.   
  • Provide oversight and planning to optimize expenses associated with tax and compliance globally. 
  • Partner with our Private Equity investors and lenders on governance, reporting, and financial management.
  • Develop processes within the Accounting Operations Department that will enhance productivity, correctness, and timeliness of financial statements. 
  • Stay abreast of developments in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance with evolving requirements.
  • Ensure completion of federal, state, and international tax requirements, including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes.  Oversee activities with tax experts in the development of appropriate tax strategies and preparation of relevant tax return filings worldwide.
  • Provide exemplary leadership, guidance, mentoring, and decision support to Accounting and Finance teams.
  • Support the CFO with other analysis as needed.

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent, with CPA certification. Public Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing systems, processes, and leading a team.
  • Proven experience in M&A and acquisition / sale due diligence process, including review and analysis of financial statements.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Access/SQL database, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and Management Reporter experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the eDiscovery or other service industry with complex billing is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting rules.
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritize, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Proven ability to build relationships and navigate cross functionally.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with solid understanding of systems and technology. 
  • High level of proficiency with Excel.
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
  • Strong history of financial project management

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
