Summary

HII seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to provide support to the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River for its Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) network. The selected candidate will contribute to advancing JSE's initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills of our tactical aviators to effectively respond to emerging threats. The evolving nature of these threats necessitates rapid evolution of the JSE to ensure a resilient and secure digital environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to supporting the nation's warfighters.

What you will do

• Manage and provision Linux systems and applications using Ansible
• Review Ansible Playbooks, recommend improvements, and implement changes
• Upgrade, install, and configure applications software and hardware
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support to the team
• Create and manage system permissions and user accounts
• Perform security tests and security monitoring in support of strict cybersecurity requirements
• Maintain networks and network file systems
• Research and develop technical solutions to meet emerging threat requirements

What you must have

• Must have 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
• Linux and Ansible systems experience
• Experience upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and hardware
• Experience automating and orchestrating system and application provisioning
• Experience with Linux scripting tools such as bash and Python
• Possess strong troubleshooting skills and ability to offer technical support to the team
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
• Possess excellent verbal and writing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Active Secret clearance

Preferred Requirements

• Ability to obtain Top Secret TS/SCI clearance
• Experience with government networks and equipment
• Previous JSE experience
• CompTIA Server+
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
