Job Description

HII is seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer to join our high performing team in supporting the Air Force's ABMS DI program. We are interested in a SME who can step up and own support issues from start to finish. Looking for someone who provides deep understanding of network routers/switching platforms, understands SDWAN architecture and protocols, familiar with handling of customer managed service provisioning and is comfortable interfacing with vendors to resolve support issues.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs and plans network systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience with basic routers / firewalls and NAT (Network Address Translation)
• Must have excellent communication and analytical skills to effectively understand and resolve customer issues.
• Candidates must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• SOC2 knowledge
• Experience Designing Network
• Security+ certification
• Networking certification (i.e., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, etc.)

Preferred Requirements

• Understanding and experience with BGP, OSPF and VRRP
• Experience with COS/QOS
• Excellent organization skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task assignments and follow process flow are required

 

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
