JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant
JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is a professional who is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks within the Firm. This position is tasked with reconciling accounts, managing transactional data in the general ledger, and generally focused on accrual accounting instead of cash basis accounting. This role will work closely with the Assistant Controller.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily cash posting, including preparation of all backup reports
- Assist with month end close, including journal entries and accruals
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with annual audits/reviews
- Assist with accounts payable uploads and data entry
- Enter both purchasing and Accounts Payable transactions for separate procurement entity
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested
- Other projects as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years experience in accounting related experience
- Deltek VantagePoint experience or similar ERP experience preferred
- QuickBooks experience is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excel (intermediate user), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize effectively
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Attention to detail with good follow-through; ability to meet critical deadlines
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position may have some supervisory responsibilities.
