The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead the design and implementation of new or modified process components or equipment
• Identify or develop new polymer processing technologies for a variety of products including nonwoven materials
• Collaborate across 3M to ensure a successful scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing
• Communicate and document research results to team members, business partners, and technology stakeholders

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of industrial experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of experience with CAD software and equipment component /system design in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience with polymer processing equipment
• Creative and collaborative mindset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
