Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security, this position will primarily focus on identifying cyber-threats to the organization. This will be achieved via analyzing threat events from multiple sources, such as IDS/IPS, Antivirus, firewalls, system logs and others, then escalating any relevant security issues to the appropriate areas. This role will also encompass maintaining a cyber-threat dashboard. Additionally, the position will be responsible for providing the appropriate teams with guidance on security issues that need to be remediated. The individual must have a strong awareness of current and developing security threats and technologies to support research and recommendations.
What you will do:
- Utilize information from Nutrien’s Security infrastructure to gain visibility into cyber-threats and cyber-incidents. Create dashboards to support this function
- Establish a threat modeling methodology to identify, classify, prioritize and report on enterprise threats using the organizations SIEM and identified risk classification
- Act as a core team member with Nutrien Computer Security Incident Response (CSIRT) to analyze and prevent various threats
- Carry out Triage on security events, raise incidents and support the Security Incident Response process.
- Perform Cyber Threat and Risk Assessments with our business partners
- Provide security awareness training to the organization
- Escalate risks when appropriate
- Educate other IT Staff members of operational issues within security
- Maintain a strong understanding of current IT Security risks and vulnerabilities. Keep abreast of new behaviors by hackers to ensure we are not vulnerable to attack. Keep in tuned with respect to new techniques and approaches within security
- Prepare drafts of changes for existing IT security procedures and policies or for new policies and procedures as a result of new attacks by hackers
- Keep up-to-date with the different tools employed by security to detect and prevent intrusion – this will include intrusion detection systems, anti-virus systems, denial of service attacks, white listing and black listing of sites, proxy, and penetration testing
- Security investigations and forensic investigation of computers upon “incidents”
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary Degree or Technical Diploma is preferred
- 2 years in a related field
- SANS GSEC and GCIH certifications
- A thorough knowledge of networking, security awareness, awareness of malicious activities on the internet
- Experience dealing with highly confidential, sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills
- Attention to detail and strong ability to determine root cause
- A customer focused attitude that enables the business to operate effectively in a secure manner
Compensation & Benefits:
$64,000 - $ 88,000 USD. This range is estimated for an Analyst, Cyber Security in Loveland, CO. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
