About the role

We are currently hiring a QA Packaging TechnicianinCincinnati, OH

The Quality Technician will ensure the integrity of each batch of product and consistent quality of production by enforcing good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems; conducting analysis, validating processes and providing documentation. This position will fill an essential role in monitoring quality programs through regular process checks as well as short and long term projects. Assist in the decision making process as it related to production and release of product. This position reports directly to the Assistant Quality Assurance Manager, Packaging.  

What You'll Brew: 

  • Conduct product testing throughout the production process, including TPO/fill/CO₂ checks, and Beer Analyzer measurements. 
  • Interpret SPC data to determine whether equipment adjustments, shutdowns, or continued operation are required. 
  • Perform daily seam analysis to verify can seam integrity and identify potential leakers. 
  • Participate in sensory evaluation, including triangle tests and tasting new product releases. 
  • Validate product, raw materials, and packaging materials against specifications; determine release or hold status. 
  • Verify coding, labeling, packaging quality, and overall product presentation. 
  • Confirm correct case and can codes during production. 
  • Support packaging material qualifications with the Assistant QA Manager. 
  • Accurately complete daily and monthly GMP and HACCP audits; enforce brewery and food‑safety standards. 
  • Shut down processes that do not meet GMP requirements and notify appropriate personnel. 
  • Maintain the product retain library, ensuring proper sample collection and documentation for TTB and internal compliance. 
  • Follow all brewery safety procedures and wear required PPE on the packaging floor. 
  • Communicate quality issues clearly with production, packaging, and management teams. 
  • Promote a team‑oriented, safety‑first environment. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements. 
  • Support shift, weekend, and holiday schedules as needed; maintain communication via radio and brewery phone systems.

 

What Ingredients You’ll Bring:  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a related quality, production, or manufacturing role. 
  • 3+ years of general work experience in a production or industrial environment. 
  • Proven mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or vocational activities. 
  • Working knowledge of GMP and basic laboratory/production safety practices. 
  • Understanding of basic Statistical Process Control (SPC). 
  • Proficiency with computers and automated equipment for data entry and analysis. 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and QI Analyst. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team‑building skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of management across multiple departments. 
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and maintain a positive, solutions‑focused attitude. 
  • Flexible, open‑minded, and capable of driving positive change.

 

Physical Requirements

  • All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s)
  • Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
  • Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
  • Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
  • Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms
  • Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
  • Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
  • Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception

 

Working Conditions

  • There is frequent exposure production environments: Subject to loud and constant noise and non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold
