Position Description:
Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Assay Laboratory Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a laboratory experience supporting continuous improvement in process mining and metals.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will safely and efficiently:
- Perform metallurgical laboratory tests, including roasting, autoclaving, leaching, and other physical characterization
- Prepare ore samples for analysis with laboratory crushing, grinding, and pulverizing
- Assist in metallurgical studies by collecting and analyzing samples in an industrial setting
- Perform various analytical methods including titration and wet chemistry
- Perform quality control and quality assurance testing on process reagents and consumables
- Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment, such as pH/electrochemical meters
- Ordering and stocking of laboratory supplies as needed
- Occasional overtime/weekend coverage may be required
- Performs other duties as required
The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles and methods used in metallurgical analysis, laboratory, and mineral processing preferred
- 2 years metallurgical, analytical laboratory, or engineering technician experience preferred
- Previous lead or relief supervisor experience preferred
- Previous experience with LIMS software preferred
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry and supporting math preferred
- Able to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required
- Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions required
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required
