The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Parks Maintenance Worker to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Parks division. Are you a dynamic and caring leader? The Parks Maintenance Worker earns a competitive salary of $16.61-$19.46/hour, based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER
Job Summary
The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform maintenance and construction duties.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Essential Functions
- Perform upkeep of athletic complex grounds including trash, pressure washing, restroom and other general cleaning duties
- Complete ballfield maintenance such as dragging, mowing, fertilizing, edging
- Operate and maintain trucks, tractors, mowers and other equipment
- Setup fields for games and tournaments (bases, painting, pitching mounds, temporary fencing, etc...)
- Maintain a mixture of natural and artificial turf playing surfaces
- Perform related work as required
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Requires six months maintenance or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
