PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of Lead Maintenance Technician and guidance by Plant Manager. Helps maintain all machinery and equipment in operating condition according to all applicable standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs preventative maintenance on all machines and equipment.
Assists with maintaining the PM system.
Troubleshoots routine mechanical problems.
Apply mechanical theory in an industrial setting to monitor fluid systems.
Monitor general operation of steam generation equipment.
Assists with coordinating with outside vendors on larger or warranted repair projects.
Maintains a log of all repairs and maintenance performed.
Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
May serve on the location Safety Committee and adheres to company environmental health and safety policies and training.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Requires related experience and/or training to demonstrate the ability to repair and maintain company machinery and equipment.
Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend instructions and communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.
Demonstrated time management and basic math skills.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Understanding of computer skills as they relate to the mechanic position.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Ability to frequently move up to 100 lbs.
Ability to ascend/descend ladders and stairs, and position self into awkward or confined spaces.
