About the role

​​​​​Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud.  Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. You will help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.

  • This role is located either in any of the hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. 
  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. 
  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing: Creates, aligns, and maintains sourcing strategies to continuously re-evaluate and improve Microsoft procurement of Equipment. Drives strategic initiatives and helps facilitate for appropriate rhythm of business (ROB) process.

 

Negotiation Strategy: Develops and drives standards in negotiation strategies for long lead equipment.

 

Supplier Selection: Oversees supplier selection, volume, capacity, contracting and performance management. Ensures alignment to Microsoft business goals, throughout.

 

Contracting: Understand industry contracting norms and Microsoft contracting requirements; participates and tracks negotiation and contracts that meet business goals.

 

Supplier Engagement: Proactively segments suppliers, utilizes engagement programs and analytics to improve performance and achieve business goals.

Serves as contact point between suppliers and multiple regions across one or more complex purchasing categories, develops and executes supplier account plans detailing priorities and focus for the supplier relationship for the upcoming period.

 

Category Vision & Strategy: Creates, communicates, and maintains a category execution vision and strategy that is based on appropriate business intelligence, is following Microsoft policies, and has buy-in from stakeholders, Microsoft-wide.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years expe
