This role is responsible for supporting providers with patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, and daily clinic operations. Pay range: $18-22/hr, depending on experience

Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Room and prepare patients, obtain intake information, and accurately document medical history, medications, allergies, and vital signs in the EMR.
- Support efficient patient flow by preparing exam rooms and assisting providers throughout the clinic.
- Prepare procedure trays, sterile instruments, and equipment for dermatology procedures following clinic protocols.
- Assist providers during dermatologic procedures, including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and other in-office procedures.
- Prepare, label, and route pathology specimens to the appropriate laboratory while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Prepare or assist with local anesthetic administration as directed by the provider.
- Educate patients on procedures, wound care, and post-treatment instructions, and respond to patient questions and phone calls.
- Manage clinical task lists, nurse line messages, phone calls, faxes, and other provider communications in a timely manner.
- Accurately document patient encounters and provide medical scribing support in the EMR when needed.
- Clean, sterilize, calibrate, and maintain medical instruments and equipment according to infection control standards.
- Monitor, order, organize, and stock medications and clinical supplies while maintaining accurate inventory.
- Communicate pathology results to patients as directed, document follow-up, and coordinate next steps when needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies while supporting high-quality patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily clinic operations.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in pre-medicine, pre-physician assistant, biology, health sciences, or a related healthcare field with prior hands-on clinical experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of recent Medical Assistant, CNA, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.
- Previous dermatology experience preferred.
- Experience with prior authorizations preferred.
- Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Experience obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with clinical procedures preferred.
Preferred skills:
- Experience obtaining vital signs, performing patient intake, and preparing patients for appointments.
- Experience administering injections.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and medical documentation.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Ability to triage patient concerns and communicate effectively with providers.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent patient service.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, patients, and visitors.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with strong attention to detail.
