Recovery Counselor Part-Time

 

JOB DEFINITION:

Utilizes various activities under supervision to serve the treatment needs of clients and help them make progress toward their goals.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience working with adults diagnosed with mental illness and facilitating groups preferred.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Managing a caseload of approximately 5-15 clients, which includes (but is not limited to) the following:
   1. Conduct required assessments for new clients and on an ongoing basis with existing clients
   2. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with recipients; review and update as required
   3. Meet individually with clients to address progress/barriers toward treatment goals
   4. Maintain contact with collaterals to coordinate care/treatment of clients
   5. Coordinate discharge plans once the client is ready to move on from program
2. Facilitate multiple therapeutic and skill-building groups throughout the day
   1. Utilize evidence-based materials when facilitating groups
3. Follow documentation and billing guidelines for all individual and group services; review all documentation/billing to ensure for accuracy.
4. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in developing and executing interventions for optimal client care
5. Represents program at community meetings on an as-needed basis
6. Ensures a safe, secure and nurturing environment is provided and maintained for clients
7. Identify and implement quality improvement trainings and activities as part of professional development goals
8. Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.
9. Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views and experiences. A Culture that makes better decisions, drives innovation, and delivers better business results.
10. Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by following established safety guidelines.

12. Other duties as assigned.
