Job Description
Block is building new commerce experiences for merchants through Afterpay and Cash App Pay. As a member of Block’s Partner Engineering team, you’ll work closely with business development and sales managers to explain our product, services, and APIs to partners during the sales process. Additionally, you’ll support our partners and merchants through onboarding and with ongoing items. This may include building custom reports, troubleshooting and problem-solving partner integrations, building sample API integrations, and supporting our product engineering teams on new features for partners. You will also serve as a liaison between our product engineering teams, partners, and sales managers to influence our product roadmap and communicate new features externally.

- Experience working directly with customers
- Ability to translate our products functionality between technical and non-technical audiences
- Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu or using presentations and demos
- Ability to self-direct and can work independently yet also function well in a globally and culturally diverse team
- Curiosity to learn new technologies, solve interesting problems and build quality software
- Technical initiative and leadership on previous projects
- Experience building software that consumes REST APIs
- General payments industry knowledge
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Qualifications
- Using or documenting technical APIs
- Comfortable learning new technologies and staying up to date with payment trends
- Software development or other technical experience
- A rapidly scaling start-up environment
- Distributed work; especially in collaboration with others across countries and time zones
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
