Under the supervision of the Supervisor Staffing Coordination, the Patient Dispatcher is responsible for theeffective coordination and monitoring of patient transport services activities through timely and accurate handing
of requests and continued status updates to ensure completion of assignments.
Job Description
1.Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make
AMH the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees. Supports the mission of
the institution to meet or exceed the internal or external customer utilizing
established standards of behavior.
2. Exhibits excellent telephone etiquette, listening & interpersonal skills to ensure
prioritization of tasks dispatched. Promotes positive effective customer service
relations with customers and transporters
3. Utilizes effective dispatching logic in prioritizing tasks, dispatching assignments
to the appropriate personnel in order of availability and proximity while
maximizing productivity.
4. Notifies coordinator of potential issues, needs and/or concerns. Ensures
compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations.
5. Ensures proper operation of Team Chimes hardware, software programs, page
and phone handling systems; is able to troubleshoot and work with Information
Systems and vendor. Troubleshoot issues with software and technical equipment
such as phone handling, pager handling, etc.
6. Assists in orienting, training and developing all levels of transporters.
7. Performs other duties as assigned
A. Experience:
Minimum one year scheduling or administrative experience or one year transporter experience.
B. Education & Training:
High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
C. License, Certification & Registration:
CPR preferred
D. Other Requirements:
Computer experience required; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel
