Senior Pump Technician

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Senior Pump Technicians for projects located in Chesapeake, VA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:      

• Assemble, disassemble, inspect and repair of between- bearing, overhung, vertical and other high energy rotating equipment
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect and document critical components
• Perform static and dynamic balancing of components per specifications
• Recommend cost-effective repairs based on inspections and failure analysis
• Create detailed repair notes, sketches, and specifications for machining
• Operate cranes and lift equipment safely; prepare pumps for shipment
• Maintain accurate records, photos, and reports
• Support production demands with occasional overtime and field service work

 

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in pump and rotating equipment repair
• Proficiency in using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision tools
• Strong knowledge of pump types: between-bearing, overhung, vertical, centrifugal, multistage, and positive displacement
• Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening 
• Experience with balancing equipment and field service is preferred
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Leadership skills and willingness to mentor junior team members
