This role is for 1st Shift

 

Position Summary
The purpose of the Lead Operator role is to assist the supervisor in the daily operations of the department and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The Machine Operator II is responsible for managing the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager, operating machinery independently or within a team environment, and ensuring the quality and quantity of the product produced. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager.
  • Required to competently operate various machinery independently as well as within a team environment
  • Designate colleagues for job assignments and ensure the completion of tasks.
  • Perform any job within the respective department, including operating the machinery, understanding production priorities, scheduling, and directing the team to accomplish a safe and productive shift.
  • Load, unload, unload, set-up, clean, adjust and disassemble the assigned machinery, monitoring the operation periodically, and reporting any abnormal conditions to the supervisor
  • Assist in training other colleagues and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety rules, SOPs, and cGMPs guidelines.
  • Monitors the process periodically and reports any abnormal conditions to the Manager/Supervisor for corrective action.
  • Monitors and controls all process parameters to ensure accuracy and traceability
  • Continuously look for ways to improve efficiency and maintain high quality standards.
  • Provides mentorship and assistance to peers as needed, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Takes initiative in problem-solving and decision-making, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary to ensure operational success.
  • Conducts or assists with overflow jobs in the department when needed.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail while performing data entry tasks using paper records, electronic devices, PC hardware/software, iPads etc.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a clean, organized work environment while maintaining consistent attendance  
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) meeting required manufacturing standards.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 2+ years of experience in a prior factory environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Prior machine operator experience in a factory setting required.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures inclusive of Nestle’s Life Saving Rules
  • Ability to speak, read, write in English and comprehend simple instructions  
  • Capable to utilize and understand basic digital devices such as computers, iPad, etc.
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., stand, climb, bend, etc. within a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled at organizing tasks and supporting team efforts to meet objectives.
