This role involves overseeing timely and accurate tax collection, reporting, and payments for Walmart customers worldwide, and ensuring excellence in engineering. The Senior Director will also focus on talent acquisition, retention, and development to drive growth and success in the organization.

What you'll do:

The Senior Director, Software Engineering Tax Technology will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technology aspects of our Tax organization. This position requires a strong leader with expertise in software engineering, as well as a deep understanding of Tax processes.

1. Leadership and Strategy:

• Lead a global team of 150 associates, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

• Set the strategy and direction for engineering excellence within the Tax organization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with overall business goals.

• Drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for process optimization.

2. Technology Oversight:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the technology infrastructure.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

3. Talent Management:
