The Sr. Health Education Consultant is responsible for project management, vendor oversight/program management and staff development activities as related to activities carried out by Health Education and Wellness. This position assists in the identification and analysis of population needs and, as appropriate, proposes and develops targeted disease management, maternity management, and health education and wellness programs and services. Related responsibilities include data collection, reporting, and analysis of existing programs, services, and projects as assigned. The position is responsible as business owner for direct vendor oversight for vendor relations during identification, selection, contract development, implementation, and post-implementation of effective disease, maternity and/or health education programs/services. This oversight requires management of clinical contractual obligations, adherence to defined program structure, and associated cost structure development for vendored programs. Additionally, this position supports curriculum and staff development activities as primary preceptor for orientation and mentoring of staff. This position will research, construct, and support delivery of educational activities to develop a high performance staff compliment, inclusive of knowledge transfer assessments (KTAs). This position will collaborate closely, as appropriate, with the Clinical Management training staff to ensure full delivery of defined position curriculums. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities or any direct reports; however, this individual does provide feedback to Manager and Sr. Team Leads to support performance management processes. This input is primarily related to staff performance in the areas of developmental activities, teamwork, vendor interaction, and professionalism in the workplace.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Outreach to assigned group customers to facilitate engagement in program delivery in workplace.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with key employer group leaders to support the development, implementation and evaluation of worksite wellness programs.
- Analyzes, prepares and delivers existing marketing-oriented presentations, proposals and reports to current and prospective group customers and community organizations.
- Provides consultative services in a confidential manner to employer group customers
- Develops customer-specific recommendations through research of employee population needs based on disease prevalence, utilization, associated costs and related trends.
- Creates customized campaigns and programs that complement the employer group’s health benefits plan, level of commitment to wellness and readiness to change.
- Develops and provides promotional and communication materials to support wellness activities and campaigns for assigned employer group customers.
- Develops mechanisms (i.e., tools/surveys) for evaluating health education activities to support establishment of program effectiveness and validity
- Develops mechanisms to derive qualitative and quantitative outcomes to be used for program improvement and marketing purposes.
- Documents all health education activities in employer group database in accordance with established policies and desktop procedures
- Analyzes interventions and identifies areas for improvement for established health education programs and services
- Prepares recommendations for program enhancement based on outcomes / findings
