This position will be responsible for Employee Relations related to FDOT’s workforce.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Spends the majority of their time supervising, communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
Facilitates and manages the Department’s employee relations program under direct supervision of Director of Human Resources and the Deputy Director of Human Resources, as designee. Ensures that Human Resources Office projects, milestones and goals are met and adheres to approved budget regarding the employee relations program. Analyzes information and data necessary to appropriately manage, coordinate and ensure disciplinary actions taken within the Department are in accordance with Department policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, union contracts and best practices. Provides sound guidance to supervisors and management and recommends options to resolve employee relations challenges. Responds to questions pertaining to grievances and appeal rights, when applicable. Supervises and mentors staff who assist in performing these functions.
