JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator 2 of Program Compliance is responsible for leading the data processes related to PEIMS submissions and at-risk program compliance across the district. The Coordinator 2 works with campuses, central office departments, and the Student Information System (SIS) to ensure accurate, timely, and TEA-compliant reporting of special education and at-risk student data. This role requires an advanced skillset in K-12 data reporting, deep knowledge of PEIMS and at-risk eligibility requirements, and proven leadership experience within cross-functional teams.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leads the PEIMS compliance process for special education and at-risk data sets, ensuring all submissions are accurate, complete, and aligned with TEA requirements and TSDS/EdFi data standards.
2. Leads the data collection, validation, and correction work for all PEIMS submission windows, including fall, mid-year, and extended year collections.
3. Oversees at-risk student coding across campuses, ensuring accurate identification, proper documentation, and compliance with TEA eligibility criteria and funding implications.
4. Coordinates compliance and reporting work with data analysts, campus staff, special education personnel, and central office departments to ensure alignment and accuracy of student data across the district.
5. Conducts complex data validations with a strong aptitude for identifying patterns, anomalies, and compliance gaps in PEIMS and at-risk data submissions.
6. Proactively identifies trends and out-of-compliance concerns in PEIMS and at-risk data and recommends corrective action, remediation strategies, or process improvements to district leadership.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
7. Develops and delivers training, technical assistance, and data validation resources for campus and department staff to support accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
8. Serves as a subject matter expert and district liaison for TEA monitoring, audits, and guidance related to PEIMS and at-risk program compliance.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
• Microsoft Office
• Advanced knowledge of PEIMS reporting cycles, submission windows, and TEA error resolution required.
• Working knowledge of Texas Education Data Standards (TSDS/EdFi) and SIS platforms strongly preferred.
• Deep familiarity with TEA at-risk eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and funding implications preferred.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
