This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, 250 Dewey Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
Under limited supervision provides culturally sensitive services of Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, Crisis Assessment, PRS, and case management services to assigned clients in the Rehab Services Program.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:
Provide Assessment, Individual and Group Services, Crisis Intervention, PRS, and Family Therapy to assigned clients.
Function as part of treatment team. Work with clients and other staff to develop Treatment Plans for individual clients and helps to develop program plan to meet these individuals' goals.
Assist with coordinating care for patients at Rosewood ALF, Cantrell's RCF, and Draymont Ridge apartments, and acts as liaison between MHC and these facilities.
Maintain clinical records to Quality Assurance Standards and maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local Corporate Compliance Laws.
Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, workshops, and required staff development and training.
Examples of duties
- A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of counseling, psychopathology and patient management, of basic health and welfare services and the ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families and representative of other professional disciplines.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Supplemental information
Post hire, employees must:- Successfully complete the Basic Fundamentals course with a minimum grade of 75.
- Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
- Perform all jobs duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMH, Quality Assurance, Compliance HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.
