PEC Fitness Inc., a proud franchisee of Planet Fitness, is currently seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to oversee our Adrian, Michigan location. This leadership position is ideal for someone with a hands-on management style, strong customer service skills, and a passion for people development.

Position Overview:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the club. This includes leading a team, delivering exceptional member experiences, ensuring operational and financial success, and upholding Planet Fitness brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff, including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians
  
  
• Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, while ensuring adherence to superior customer service standards
  
  
• Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are adequately covered
  
  
• Ensure staff consistently delivers exceptional customer service
  
  
• Lead by example and maintain accountability for direct reports through coaching, training, and consistent performance management
  
  
• Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for all club employees
  
  
• Address and resolve employee concerns; manage progressive discipline and terminations when necessary
  
  
• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring all feel welcome and supported
  
  
• Answer incoming calls professionally and assist callers with questions or concerns
  
  
• Check members into the system, conduct tours, enroll new members, and log amenity usage
  
  
• Communicate club events, updates, and promotions to members and guests
  
  
• Oversee and actively participate in daily cleaning duties, including taking responsibility for cleaning a large section of the club
  
  
• Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are clean, organized, and welcoming
  
  
• Participate in overall facility cleaning and maintenance, including mopping spills, taking out trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights
  
  
• Ensure the safety of employees, members, and property by identifying equipment or facility issues and reporting them promptly to the Facilities Maintenance team
  
  
• Ensure staff is properly trained on and aware of all marketing promotions
  
  
• Authorize expenditures, process refunds, and prepare all HR forms for submission to the Corporate HR and Payroll Team
  
  
• Track and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports/statistics
  
  
• Provide support and coverage for employees who are absent
  
  
• Perform other duties as assigned based on club needs
  
  

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
  
  
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  
  
• One to three years of management experience preferred (fitness or service industry experience ideal)
  
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems quickly
  
  
• Strong leadership, team building, and coaching skills
  
  
• Exceptional customer service and conflict resolution capabilities
  
  
• Organized and effective in problem-solving and planning
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
  
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation required
  
  

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly wage: $23–$25 per hour (based on experience)
