The Youth Services Department is hiring an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the newly reorganized department with its internal business processes to support professionals focused on services aimed at positive outcomes for youth. This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking and motivated team that is employing a fresh approach and data to guide leadership and enhance service delivery.The department aims to facilitate a top continuum of care for local at-risk youth and emerging adults through programs emphasizing healthy and responsible behavior, personal accountability, family involvement, and community support. The department achieves its mission through activities at an administrative office in Ashburn, VA, and a Youth Services Center in Leesburg, VA.
Examples of duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains and tracks data using spreadsheets and/or databases
- Assist with records management
- Assists with ordering and purchasing activities, including administering procurement cards
- Reconciles receipts or accounts receivable/payable
- Assist with ordering and maintaining office supplies
- Monitors copiers, scanners, printers, and fax machines used in Department and assures all equipment is operational
- Provide courteous and timely customer service to internal as well as external customers
- May serve as Human Resource liaison for Department, providing assistance with payroll and recruiting activities
- May coordinate meetings and/or Director calendar
Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental information
Valid driver's license and good driving record when required for job-related duties. Pass pre- employment criminal background check. Based on assigned program area a credit and/or DMV check may also be required. Positions in public safety agencies may require fingerprinting and polygraph examination.Apply for this role
