Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a professional position in the Preventive Services/Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP). The incumbent demonstrates incorporation of the elements of the Sterling Criteria for Excellence into daily work processes and is under the direct supervision of the Senior Human Services Program Specialist - SES.
Registers clients, obtains accurate demographical and financial income eligibility information, ensures client meets eligibility criteria, makes appointments and notifies clients (via telephone and/or mail). Visit primary care clinics and works with the clinic staff as well as monitor and educate staff on the program registration criteria to ensure that the BCCP quality indicators are being met. Provides assistance to the Senior Human Services Program Specialist – SES for Level I, II and III overall case management for the women with normal and abnormal screenings and makes appropriate referrals for BCCP.
Enters screening and diagnostic services into the BCCP database as needed. Makes appointments and notifies clients with abnormal screening results ensuring that they receive the appropriate diagnostic screening appointments within a 60 day timeframe. Assists clients in problem solving potential issues related to the healthcare system.
Assists in preparing and submitting Patient Reporting Forms to the State Health Office. Ensures integrity of patient records including computer data back-up. Provides data relating to the number of screenings submitted, so that the program is updated on its progress towards goals. Generates purchase requisitions and warehouse orders for supplies and services, ensures fiscal code accuracy, tracks progress and receipt of materials and services for BCCP.
Promote program services at outreach activities for BCCP. Distributes brochures and flyers to community partners to promote program services and participates in outreach activities. Prepare incentives and educational materials and plans, organizes, and coordinates outreach activities in a field setting for community screening days. Assists in different community outreach activities including presentations, which may include evenings or weekends. Assists management in coordinating and facilitating provider meetings and trainings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position.
- Knowledge and proficiency with computers and various computer programs; Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations; Knowledge of client eligibility verification.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures such as billing and purchasing; Knowledge of chronic diseases and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of correct grammar usage and ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of basic math and ability to perform basic math calculations; Ability to follow instructions and to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
- Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to organize and maintain filing systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum -
Experience interviewing clients to obtain medical history.
Preferred -
Incumbent in this position is preferred to be bilingual in English and Spanish.
