Description
The Construction Field Assistant supports the daily operations of construction sites by assisting project managers, supervisors, and other team members. This role involves coordinating with different departments, maintaining site documentation and assisting with the management of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Coordination: Assist in the daily coordination of on-site activities, including scheduling, material deliveries, and communication with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including work progress, and material usage.
- Material Management: Assist with the tracking, receiving, and distribution of materials and equipment on site. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Communication: Serve as a point of contact between the construction site and the project management team, relaying information and updates as needed.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and address any issues that arise on-site, escalating them to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
- General Labor: Perform general labor tasks as required, such as site clean-up, moving materials, and assisting tradespeople with their tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in construction or project management is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required. Familiarity with construction tools and materials is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of construction methods and terminology.
- Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license may be required.
Work Environment:
- The role primarily involves working on construction sites, which may expose the employee to varying weather conditions, noise, and potential hazards. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
