FAAC is seeking one CBA Simulation Maintenance Technician II on the Virtual Clearance Training Suite (VCTS) and other TO19 Devices at Fort Leonard Wood, MO on the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Program (ATMP).


Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Secret


 Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, and installs various types of platform equipment related to VCTS and DT.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. 
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures’ manuals or similar documents. 
  • Requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. 
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. 
  • Performs tasks troubleshooting and repairing military simulators, including using tools and test equipment such as multi-meters to diagnose faults.
  • Shall ensure all subsystems are up and operation IAW scheduled training start time.
  • Shall ensure database enemy SAF entities, supporting SAF entities, and routes have been loaded for the selected training scenario.
  • Shall induce, and clear weapon malfunctions as guided by the I/O.
  • Shall provide familiarization training as required when previously scheduled.
  • Shall provide visitor orientation briefings.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
     

Basic Job Functions: 

  • Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install various types of VCTS and DT equipment to include PMCS requirements.
  • Starts up all simulators at the beginning of training and shutting down all simulators at the end of training. 
  • Visually inspect components for signs of loose cables, excess dirt/dust on fan vents, and clean all dust and/or debris from device equipment.
  • Keep training area clean and free of clutter.
  • Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history ensuring that unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS).
  • Accurately maintain component and parts levels in storeroom and associated database. 
Requirements

  

 (Minimum Qualifications): 

  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university or related military training and six years minimum in a related discipline. 
  • Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with Linux, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office software operations.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.
  • Converse orally and in writing with corporate administrative and technical personnel. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance as required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card (CAC) for access to specific training systems and to access other installations and/or a military installation access permit.

Work Environment:

  • Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and climb ladder up to 25 ft.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations across the U.S. for training.
  • Must be able to work occasional shift, night, weekend, or holiday hours in support of military training.
  • May be required to work in extreme cold and heat conditions.
