Principal, Workflow Engineering

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Software Product Engineering team to collaborate with team members in our other offices to build out our SaaS offering.

Candidates must have excellent design and software development skills and an enthusiasm for learning modern technologies. We seek someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and obsessed with building world-class Cloud-based services and platform components.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and supporting data-intensive, cloud-based applications for the capital markets. This position offers an opportunity to do highly visible work that will significantly contribute to the growth of Qontigo's businesses.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on design and development of Qontigo's cloud-based SaaS solution.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and performant web APIs, distributed services, and databases supporting portfolio management requirements (e.g., portfolio construction, performance attribution, what-if pricing, and risk analysis.
• Seek opportunities to improve quality and efficiency from ideation to deployment.
• Coordinate service deployment and monitoring with DevOps and Operations to minimize client disruptions.
• Interact with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into detailed designs.

Qualifications

Required

• 12+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise applications
• Strong object-orientated design and development skills
• Experience with distributed systems designs and cloud-native development
• Experience with design, development, and performance profiling of data access layers and database schemas
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions that demonstrate significant creativity and high judgment
• Technically orientated degree (computer science, engineering, mathematics)

Preferred

• Experience building scalable microservices using .NET Core or .NET 6
• Experience with Azure and their provided services
• Experience profiling and improving performance of SQL Server
• Familiarity with Snowflake or other NoSQL or Cloud-native persistence solutions
• Experience working in fintech or financial services (pricing, analytics, and risk concepts a plus)
• Experience migrating large-scale monolithic solutions to a microservices architecture
