The Fairview Gemini Recreation Center is a 93,000-square-foot community and recreation complex operated in partnership with Cleveland Clinic. As a Physical Therapist, you will create a healing atmosphere that enhances the Cleveland Clinic treatment experience by assisting in providing highly specialized treatment for bones, joints, muscles, and tendons, specifically designed for the unique needs and health backgrounds of your patients. In this position, you will work in a high-performing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic dedicated to superior patient experiences, exceptional patient care and an engaging staff environment that fosters educational development and continual growth of clinical skills. You will primarily be based at the Fairview Gemini Rec Center, with the potential to work at other west side outpatient locations to assist in covering leaves and staff PTO.

This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including internal continuing education through Cleveland Clinic Rehab and Sports Therapy.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various day shifts between 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.  

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.

  • Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care to problems identified and involve the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.

  • Perform physical therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patient’s age and condition. 

  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support caregivers.   

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certificate  

  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)   

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Clinical area experience 

  • Experience in outpatient orthopedic and sports setting

  • Available on short notice to assist in covering unscheduled PTO

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.

  • Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.

  • Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.

  • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle ten
