Temporary, Senior Lead (Automotive and Sports)

 

Our team is seeking a Freelance Senior Lead, with sports, event management, client management, communications and motorsports logistics background to join our dynamic team! This role will support our automotive client and team, with on-the-ground racing events, managing press, communications, and supporting client and team needs.  

  

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in a sports communications setting, who can effectively work with both our internal and external team to manage our client’s day-to-day business and PR responsibilities, including representing the client at several racing events over the weekend. Traveling, managing weekend events, and working remotely will be an integral part of the role.  

  

Our ideal candidate can execute, oversee, and manage programs, provide client counsel and execute onsite events. We are looking for someone who has strong instincts, is agile and forward-thinking at a moment’s notice. You are a great listener, providing sound counsel, are media trained and can think on your feet in a fast-paced environment. 

  

What You’ll Do: 

• Manage day-to-day activities and event logistics for our motorsport's client and business 

• Make decisions that push our client’s business forward by applying creative and strategic thinking to plans, programs, events and campaigns 

• Provide media and client counsel 

• Have a strong eye for detail, quality control, foreseeing any client and team needs, managing team correspondence and plans 

• Understand traditional media and social media solutions and position them with clients in collaboration with subject-matter experts 

• Manage media relations and traditional PR activity on event days, including speaking engagements, sponsored content, and activations 

  

Travel 

• Ability to travel and work weekend, on-site client events throughout the better part of the year.  

  

What You Have: 

• 12+ years of event management experience, particularly with sporting events 

• Sports marketing experience, along with deep event management, client relations, and logistics experience.  

• Highly adept at writing various types of content and press releases. 

• Understanding of social platforms (social media universe, such as Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) 

  

 Qualities & Qualifications  

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience  

• 12 years of experience in sports marketing, communications, event management role 

• Ability to take ownership over event logistics, client and team needs, and day-of coordination 

• Experience working with sports, consumer and/ or corporate clients 

• Experience working in sports communications 

• Skilled at providing client counsel, crisis communications counsel and finding solutions 

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to provide clients with media prep for interviews and events 

• Forward-thinking mindset
