YOUR ROLE:
As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical engineering functions required for the design, manufacture, and delivery of Buhler dryers, performing sizing calculations, selecting components based on sales contracts and process specifications, and ensuring technical compliance. Your responsibilities include organizing documentation, ensuring drawing accuracy, creating parts with proper documentation, aligning activities to project schedules, and resolving design and manufacturing issues. You will inspect components and finished machinery, provide accurate equipment manual information, and actively participate in project meetings with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. Additionally, you'll resolve post-delivery design and engineering issues, collaborating closely with your team to ensure innovative, efficient, and high-quality designs that make a tangible impact on our products and processes.
Mechanical Design Engineer Qualifications:
- Proficiency with engineering drafting/drawings and engineering principles and calculation, including the strength of materials, stress analysis, and dynamics
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly practices, e.g., welding, sheet metal forming, press operations, etc.
- Knowledge of industry or regulatory codes
- Knowledge of ISO GPS dimensioning and tolerances
- Familiarity with 8D processes
- Familiarity with Windchill and SAP
- Ability to model complex assemblies in Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time
Having a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is a plus!
