Senior Sales Analyst

As a Senior Sales Analyst on the Dollar General sales team, this role is responsible for reporting and analytics to uncover unique trends and insights.  We are looking for top talent in the Nashville, Tennessee area (preferred) but are open to candidates throughout the US.  

 

As the expert on our sales metrics, you will work closely with account executives, sales directors, and category management to review business trends and provide your input on opportunities to improve profit and gross sales volume.  You’ll partner with the Sales team to maintain business forecasts and track our joint business plan with our retail partner.  You’ll leverage your skills in extracting data from multiple sources to provide a periodic summary of performance against our joint goals and objectives. 

   

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing  

 

• Analyzing Data - Serve as the team’s primary analytic resource, evaluating shipment and consumption trends, inventory metrics, and competitive performance.
• Tools and Technology - You’ll use data sources including Nielsen and 1010Data to perform and deliver best in class reporting and analysis, both internally and externally.
• Maximizing Business Processes – Build tools to support Dollar General and the internal team.  You’ll track essential performance metrics including sales growth and market share against key benchmarks. Additionally, you’ll manage weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc deliverables.

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

 

• Experience in an analytical role, preferably in front of the customer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced expertise in Excel and experience building PowerPoint presentations. 
• Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules and specific time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Work as a team and comfortable working with cross functional partners in a timely manner.
