Spreetail is looking for a Senior Manager of Trade Compliance for our Transportation team who will lead our trade and compliance efforts. We are looking for someone particularly strong with China / Canadian imports and has the ability to lead teams.

As Senior Manager of Trade Compliance, you will:

  • Oversee all import and export compliance procedures relative to supply chain, making sure that product flow meets global trade regulations and all documentation is correct and in order.
  • Create rules to auto-classify SKU’s with HTS/Canadian HS codes based on product description.
  • Classify items with HTS/Canadian HS codes, obtains additional information and documentation from vendors as necessary.
  • Lead determination of country of origin and opportunities under free trade agreements.
  • Ensure that U.S. regulatory requirements are met for all products, including consumer product safety regulations and standards. 
  • Communicate regulatory requirements to stakeholders and supports other departments such as Vendor Management, Customer Service, and Legal.
  • Work with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other government agencies and customs brokers to streamline import process or resolve potential issues. 
  • Quote customs duties and taxes based on tariffs, validates calculations performed by customs brokers, investigates discrepancies. 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, International Trade or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in import & export compliance roles with strong background in tariffs, compliance, and international trade.   
  • Experience in building internal trade and compliance processes and scaling them.
  • 5-10+ years experience in international trade and compliance.
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
