Westwin Elements is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead and manage our commercial project.
About the role
- The Senior Construction Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of our commercial construction project exceeding $200 million in value. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience in managing large-scale projects, ensuring quality, safety, timeliness, and cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a skilled communicator, and a collaborative team player with the expertise to navigate the complexities of high-profile construction initiatives.
What you'll do
- Project Leadership: Oversee all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction through final delivery, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Schedule Oversight: Create and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure on-time delivery of milestones and final project completion.
- Contract Administration: Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to safeguard the project's best interests.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards, and maintain a strong emphasis on workplace safety.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and implement proactive solutions to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold Westwin Elements’ commitment to excellence by conducting regular inspections and ensuring work meets or exceeds standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of construction management experience, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects valued at $150MM or higher.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, materials, and systems, as well as proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex, high-stakes projects effectively.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to address challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with current construction laws, codes, and best practices.
