JOB OPPORTUNITY

JOB TITLE:  Maintenance I

SITE LOCATION OF POSITION:  Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation Department

HOURS OF POSITION:  8 hours daily/12-month position

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  Performs routine grounds keeping duties and miscellaneous repair and maintenance work.  Cares for plants and lawns, makes repairs to irrigation systems.  Combining skills and knowledge of more than one trade, makes minor repairs to furniture, locks, masonry, electrical and plumbing systems. May be required to drive a school bus on an as-needed or regular basis.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities and Transportation Director. Job description available upon request.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses required:   Appropriate valid California Driver License; possession of (or ability to possess within the probationary period) an appropriate, valid school bus driver's certificate.

Ability to:  Perform semiskilled maintenance, construction and repair work in area assigned; use and operate hand and power tools and equipment; interpret basic maps and blueprints; maintain order among students on a school bus; learn designated bus route, including stops and traffic hazards; work cooperatively and independently.

SALARY:  Range 20, Step 1 $23.31
