Role Overview:

The Sr. AWS Cloud & DevOps Architect will lead the Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Services development. The Architect will be the primary contact for other Technology & Eng teams within the organization for all matters related to designing, building & run, securing and optimizing Cloud Infrastructure and Services. You are required to partner with other leaders across the business to identify opportunities and risks and develop solutions that support business strategies. Technically strong and hands-on.

This is a remote position in the United States. We will only consider candidates currently in the United States and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role:

• Need to be hands-on in writing IAC and other automation code and knowledgeable in CI/CD pipeline implementation and configuration
• Align and own the architectural roadmap for cloud-based solutions that balances needs, including scalability, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead the reconciliation of technical and business requirements as they relate to the Cloud.
• Dive deep into existing architectures to understand their full scope. Decompose current and desired new functionality to appropriate service / micro service level.
• Architect and manage secure, scalable infrastructure utilizing Kubernetes to support our external and internal use cases.
• Develop architectural patterns for the Observability’s three pillars – Logs (EFK stack / Splunk), Metrics (Prometheus, Grafana) and Tracing.
• Work with compliance/security to ensure that cloud adoption is managed / governed in line with industry standards.
• You will lead research and development of next-generation applications supporting millions of users across security, privacy, identity, transactions, and data.
• Work with transformational programmers to establish and improve new delivery methodologies following DevOps and Performance models. Conduct FMEA, create defenses against potential failures, instill monitoring mechanisms.
• Assess technical feasibility of building rapid POC's, find technological solutions for gaps, and create strategic IP.
• Design the HA / DR strategies. Set up process, services, and tools around Cloud.
• Design the AWS network architecture including VPN connectivity between regions and subnets.
• Determine and oversee Cloud governance and compliance procedures.
• Define landing zones, security policies, monitoring procedures and overall manageability\maintainability of Infrastructure.
• Establish architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, and automated continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Use cost/benefit models with mapping architecture to business outcomes and KPIs.
• Coordinate with Product Owners and Business Relationship Managers to incorporate the voice of the customer.
• Participate in business case development and validation.

About you: 

• Your background includes 15 + years in the IT industry, and 7 + years as a Systems Architect experience including designing ‘Infrastructure as Code’.
• Proven experience in architecting IaaS solutions in AWS, experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure and VMware NSX. AWS platform is preferred.
• Knowledgeable in programming constructs and direct experience coding in scripting languages, Python, Ruby or Perl or other languages required to build ‘Infrastructure as Code.’
• Experience with Containers and Container orchestration solutions: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or Docker Swarm.
• Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation).
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production. Experience building and operating Kubernetes and executing deployments at scale in production environments.
• Experience with DevOps techniques such as building a CI/CD pipeline from scratch and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
• Experience with one or more Programming and scripting languages (Java, Go, Python, ASP.NET, PHP, C#, PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services.
• Proficiency in building scalable and available SaaS solutions supporting millions of Customers.
