The Director of Field Leadership Capabilities will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of field leadership functional/technical capability development programs for Otsuka field sales leaders. You will partner with field sales and matrix team leadership, business unit leaders, sales managers, and HR partners to deliver best-in-class, comprehensive development training, experiences, and exposure for existing and future field leaders. The ideal candidate is an accomplished, collaborative leader who has experience working with key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, has leadership experience in various capacities and has a proven track record of executing an effective and innovative. leadership development program. You will report to the Executive Director, Field Training and Development.
This position is remote. Travel is expected 30% of the time based on business needs.
Job Description:
In conjunction with internal talent partners design, build, and facilitate field leadership development programs and processes to lead in-role professional capabilities and growth and facilitate performance across the commercial organization.
Consult and collaborate with commercial business unit leaders to understand their functional technical gaps, leadership and development needs, provide recommendations and ensure appropriate sponsorship, engagement, and alignment.
Address the emerging needs of an ever-changing workforce and focus on the critical behaviors that leaders need to lead an engaged, successful, inclusive team.
Leverage adult learning principles, systems thinking, and creative problem solving to evolve the learning experiences for existing and future leaders.
Assess and manage field leadership gaps and recommend and co-create solutions with key stakeholders across the organization.
Assist in the development of high potential candidates within the field organizations to ensure follow through on individual developmental plans with their managers.
Leverage multiple delivery modalities to effectively deliver training.
Partner with external vendors where appropriate and manage budget and vendor agreements.
Partner with HR and ensure alignment and coordination with current HR corporate leadership development programs
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of experience in training and development, leadership development, or related experience with transferrable skills.
Experience in functional technical skills/competencies required of field leaders: business acumen, data analysis, market access acumen, strategic business planning, and strategic account management
Experience leading teams as a first and/or second line manager
Experience managing and coaching a team in different roles
Experience in the facilitation of leadership capability development programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Master's degree or relevant continued education
Strategic and systems thinking, problem solving, excellent project management, and strong communication skills.
Extensive knowledge including sales, market access and home office functions
Demonstrated performance in leadership development strategy, design, and implementation.
Ability to establish a strong presence with executives at all levels.
Ability to execute on multiple projects with extensive detail coordination and program management.
Broad experience within and outside of healthcare to offer both internal expertise and external perspectives
Ability to navigate throughout the organization to create collaborative, cross-functional solutions.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
